Course Description: The Language Arts program of the sixth grade is designed to teach students the use of basic communication skills necessary to become effective members of society. The sixth grade program places a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of grammar, composition skills, building vocabulary, listening and speaking, reading skills, and literature. An emphasis on the writing process will be incorporated into all of these areas.
ABOUT THE TEACHER: Mrs. Veronica Lesmes has been an educator for ten years. This is her first year at Pompano Beach Middle School. For the 2012-13 school year, she is teaching sixth grade language arts.
